Washington, D.C. (August 4, 2016) – Terry O’Sullivan, General President of LIUNA – the Laborers’ International Union of North America – made the following statement on the passing of the Honorable Steve LaTourette:

The Honorable Steve LaTourette was a champion of the working-class who throughout his long and distinguished career could be counted on for his strength of purpose, commitment to fighting for what’s right, and his determination to reach solutions that move our nation forward.

 

The hard-working men and women of LIUNA are better off today because of his unflinching courage and leadership.

 

On behalf of the half-million men and women of LIUNA and the entire General Executive Board, I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. He was a great man that embodied everything that an elected representative and public servant should be.
